Believe it or not, way back when, in 2001.....Southern Waters Outfitters was born as a fly fishing shop.

We opened for business along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico in a little Alabama town called Orange Beach. Orange Beach's claim to fame was, and is the world's infamous "Flora-Bama Lounge", located right on the beach on the Florida-Alabama state line. I can personally attest to spending waa....ay to much time there in my younger days. Fact is, I imagine a very good portion of our staff has spent a weekend afternoon or two rocking to some funky, home grown rock and roll in the sand at this honky tonk. Anyway, it was in this town, with this attitude of fun and friends, that we made our start.

In the beginning our specialty was saltwater flyfishing, but we also carried a wide variety of outdoor clothing and sportswear. We had a lot of fun guiding folks, as well as outfitting them with quality gear and clothing. Whether they were on local adventures, or trips around the globe.

In all honesty it was this great selection of clothing that has carried us to where we are today. As the interest in fly fishing waned over the years (thanks in no small part to Brad Pitt's demise in "A River Run's Through It"...hence no sequel), we focused our energies in becoming the "go to" place for the best in Men's and Women's fashion and outdoor inspired sportswear.

Our slogan "We Carry the Good Stuff!" says it all. Shop with us and we promise to provide you with a wide variety of the best brands available in a fun, easy to shop atmosphere. I might add that we also make some very cool t-shirts of our own.... worn by the coolest guys and girls in colleges throughout the SEC. If you don't know who the SEC is, this may help, our football teams probably beat yours on a regular basis.
